Portales Valley
(Portales, New Mexico) H6 (stone)
Fell 13th June 1998
One of the most recent cosmic visitors to our planet, the Portales Valley fall announced its arrival amid loud booming sounds and detonations early in the morning of 13th June 1998. Many specimens were freshly collected, some of which look like normal stone meteorites, but others contain a web of unusually thick metal veins that revealed a Widmanstatten structure when etched.
