My thoughts too Martin....but then we may find yet that comets do have lots of nickel though...after all we have not definitely studied cometary material to any extent to date...and of course there is no reason why they should not vary just as much as meteorites.
The nickel at Sudbury is a red herring. It's origin is pretty well entirely terrestrial and derived from the target rocks in the aftermath of the impact. Nice piece of rock though. Mike Simms
I wasn't aware of that Mike, thanks for the info. Always thought it was from the impactor. Lots of beautiful and interesting impactites from there though
