I'm pretty sure it is not a meteorite. It has the classic look of Hematite or even possibly man made industrial slag...superficially the surface markings at first look like the regmaglypts you get on meteorites but after seeing and handling many thousands of examples it is possible to recognize the difference.

Keep looking though...they are out there waiting to be discovered.
