There's a nice collection of meteorites coming up for auction in the Heritage Auctions Natural History Signature Auction to be held on the 20th May. For beginers, like myself, it's a good opportunity to brush up on your identification and classification skills. I've attempted to list the lots against their official classifications, but may have got a few wrong...
A few things I didn't know:
1. Some Campo del Cielo meteorites (Las Palmas variety) come from Paraguay, not Argentina. I've seen it discussed, but I don't know the official line.
2. Some Campo del Cielo meteorites are highly-silicated.
