18 Kg SAMBA Meteorite goes on display - Brussels

Postby David Entwistle » Tue May 21, 2013 10:04 pm

The splendid 18Kg meteorite recovered by the 2012 - 2013 SAMBA joint Belgium - Japanese antarctic expedition has been put on temporary display in The Brussels Museum of Natural Sciences.

The meteorite was recovered from the Nansen Ice Field on January 28, 2013.

Nothing on the museum web site so far.

Not sure why the narrator sounds like a Belgium version of HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey. :?

I see from the news report here that the splendid 18Kg meteorite is now back on permanent display in the museum of the Royal Belgium Institute of Natural Sciences.
