Fell October 1960
A bright fireball was witnessed in October 1960, and a meteorite appeared to fall on the plain of Millbillillie and Jundee stations. No searches were made as a result of the sighting, but the first specimen was recovered from an area of red clay in 1970.
Millbillillie is a rare calcium rich eucrite achondrite, believed to have once been part of asteroid Vesta - one of the brightest of our asteroids! Being Ca-rich, the fusion crust on Millbillillie specimens is a glossy, shiny black and fine flowlines are often visible over much of the surface.
